Our Management is supported by a team of trained and industry experienced service professionals. Together, their direction puts RISC in the best position to make a lasting impact for our clients.
The Management Team consists of RISC's top leaders. Playing a role in every client engagement, they bring together decades of high-level real estate, risk management and insurance experience and guide the firm at the highest levels.
Executive Management:
Richard Vilner
President and Managing Director
Richard heads the Lender Services business division and is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations and ensuring that clients receive services rooted in consistency, honesty and objectivity.
Under his leadership, he has led the firm in its growth into a leading risk management consultancy in Canada where RISC Inc. has dramatically scaled its infrastructure and broadened its offerings while maintaining a culture of client service and strong innovation.
Prior to founding RISC Inc., Richard's professional career has spanned the globe for leading firms in insurance, risk management, consulting and real estate. His competent and extensive background uniquely prepares him to lead RISC's efforts toward delivering the highest in real estate risk management services and solutions that focus on the needs of its clients.
Richard is a Certified Risk Manager (CRM), a member in good standing with R.I.B.O., and also an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
Norman Vilner
Senior Vice President
In addition to leading the Renewal Services business division, Norman handles Client Relations and Business Development. His role focuses on maintaining an efficient outsourcing division and seeing to it that RISC continues to offer a level of service, knowledge, value and commitment unrivalled in our industry.
In the most recent years, prior to joining RISC in 2009, Norman used his international consulting expertise travelling extensively throughout North America and Europe, in his role as a Senior Business Consultant. He worked for a private consultancy specializing in structuring global sales growth for Canadian and European clients.
Prior to that, Norman had three decades of top-level professional management experience, as well as directorships on industry boards.
Stuart J. Lawrence
Director - Alternative Real Estate
Joining RISC to manage its Lender Services - Alternative Real Estate Division, Stuart will focus his efforts in important segments of real estate and construction such as public-private partnerships, infrastructure and power & energy.
As an insurance veteran with vast amounts of experience in critical areas such as underwriting, consulting and most recently brokering, he will accelerate efforts to further enhance the company's leading position in insurance risk management for real estate lenders and improve operational effectiveness, resulting in significant dedication to servicing clients.
Cris Daniels
Vice President
In the position of Vice President, Operations and Development, Cris will continue to develop and execute the Toronto-based real estate risk management consulting firm's growth strategy and serve in a senior capacity on numerous national operating initiatives.
Cris spent 25 years in insurance underwriting and underwriting management. He then joined the insurance brokerage ranks, where he worked as a broker and producer for a decade. In rounding off his extensive experience, Cris spent two years with a real estate Risk Management Consulting firm as Senior Vice President, where he first worked alongside Mr. Vilner. Cris is also an approved and qualified instructor for the Insurance Institute of Canada, a position he has held since 1982.
